In response to the increasing elephant attacks in India, an elephant tracking and alarm system has been activated.

In the drought-ridden forests at the heart of India, community watchers contribute to a warning system that helps prevent hundreds of fatal tramplings that occur annually by searching for elephant tracks.

Comprised of volunteer trackers, they mark areas where elephant herds are located, while unmanned aerial vehicles and thermal cameras are used to track the elephant herds as well. Every year, hundreds of people lose their lives in elephant attacks in India.
