ABD and Russia Set Date for Putin-Trump Meeting

Following the U.S. president, the Kremlin also announced that the anticipated meeting between Putin and Trump could take place within this month. The Moscow administration stated that Russian President Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump could meet before the end of February. Trump also mentioned today that he could meet with Putin this month. A Kremlin statement indicated that the preparation for the Putin-Trump meeting would take time. According to Russia’s TASS news agency, the statement included, “First, the revival of Russia-U.S. relations, then restoration will be needed.” The Kremlin also noted that Russia and the U.S. primarily discussed their own relationship during the meeting in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia yesterday. While the discussions in Riyadh were deemed a significant step towards resolving the Ukraine crisis, it was mentioned that Russia would appoint its negotiator for Ukraine depending on the person appointed by the U.S.
