Achieving Peace: Azerbaijan and Armenia Reconcile in Peace Agreement Text

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Bayramov announced that reconciliation has been reached in the peace agreement with Armenia by accepting Azerbaijan’s proposals on the remaining two items. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov reported that negotiations on the peace agreement that will be signed with Armenia have been completed. Minister Bayramov made statements to journalists within the scope of the 12th Global Baku Forum. Referring to the peace process with Armenia, Bayramov shared, “Negotiations on the text of the peace agreement have been completed. There were two items that were not agreed upon. Armenia accepted Azerbaijan’s proposals on these two items as well. Work on the text has been concluded.” Bayramov stated that their next expectation is the removal of clauses in the Armenian constitution and other legislation that stand against Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. Emphasizing that changing the Armenian constitution is one of the necessary conditions for peace, Bayramov also mentioned the need to dissolve the OSCE Minsk Group.
