Despite the high Antep pistachio harvest in Gaziantep, it was noteworthy that prices did not decrease. Even though this year’s Antep pistachio harvest was high in Gaziantep, prices remained stable. Last year, the price per kilogram of Antep pistachios was 400 Turkish lira, but this year it was sold at a minimum of 500 lira. Producers pointed out that the sale of fresh pistachios had an impact on prices. Pistachio producers mentioned that despite a plentiful harvest season, the reason for stable prices was the increasing costs. Additionally, it was noted that the high demand for pistachios also prevented prices from dropping.
