Agriculture PPI rose by 2.7% in February

The Agriculture Producer Price Index (PPI) increased by 2.7% in February compared to the previous month, and by 29.89% compared to the same month last year. The Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) released the Agriculture PPI data for February. The index showed a 2.7% increase compared to the previous month, a 5.52% increase compared to December of last year, a 29.89% increase compared to the same month last year, and a 42.6% increase compared to the 12-month averages. Looking at changes by sectors from the previous month, agriculture and hunting products and related services increased by 2.49%, forestry products and related services increased by 6.8%, and fish and other fishery products, aquatic products, and supporting services for fishing increased by 5.2%. In main groups, there was a 0.61% increase in perishable plant products and a 5.93% increase in live animals and animal products compared to the previous month, while perennial plant products witnessed a 1.79% decrease. The subgroup with the highest annual increase was citrus fruits with a 166.37% rise, and the subgroup with the highest monthly increase was tropical and subtropical fruits with a 13.95% increase.
