Alarm of “terrorism suspect” at Cyprus Greek Administration! Flights suspended

Larnaca Airport, affiliated with the Cyprus Greek Administration, was closed to flights due to a report of a “terrorism suspect” on a plane arriving from Moldova. According to reports in the Greek Cypriot press, flights at Larnaca Airport in the Cyprus Greek Administration were halted and a “terrorism alarm” was raised due to a report of a “terrorism suspect” on a plane arriving from Moldova. While a search was conducted on the plane, flights bound for Larnaca were redirected to the airport in the city of Paphos. Greek Cypriot security sources speaking to Philenews indicated that the “terrorism alarm” originated from a suspicious passenger, but emphasized that it was not a hijacking incident. The Minister of Justice of the Republic of Cyprus, Marios Hartsiotis, stated in a press briefing that the incident was being handled by the police and the person in question was being questioned. Flights resumed approximately 5 hours after the terrorism suspect’s statement was taken and investigations were completed at Larnaca Airport. Last month, following allegations of an attack on Israelis, the Israeli secret service and security units conducted inspections at Larnaca Airport.
