Alarming Activity! Two volcanoes erupted lava again

The Aegean Sea continues to shake, with thousands of earthquakes, the biggest of which was magnitude 5.3, occurring in the past week. Concerns persist that the earthquakes could trigger the nearby volcano to become active, while volcanic activity has been reported on opposite sides of the world. Both the Etna Volcano in Spain and the Kilauea Volcano in Hawaii have started spewing lava again. Near the Santorini Island in Greece, thousands of earthquakes have been reported since January 28. The fear of a destructive earthquake or volcanic eruption caused panic, leading thousands of people to evacuate Santorini Island. The concern that earthquakes could activate the nearby volcano still lingers. While the Aegean Sea experiences this activity, alarming volcanic activity has been reported in Spain and Hawaii. It is known that both volcanoes are two of the most active in the world.

ETNA VOLCANO ERUPTS LAVA
Lava flow began on February 8th at Mount Etna, one of the active volcanoes in southern Italy. Lava continues to leak from a crack that formed on the southern slope of the “Bocca Nuova” crater at Mount Etna, which is approximately 3,300 meters high. Reports based on the Italian National Geophysics and Volcanology Institute (INGV) in Catania state that there have been no significant changes recorded in the volcano’s parameters.

KILAUEA RESUMES LAVA ERUPTION
Following the news from Italy, Hawaii also reported a development. The Kilauea Volcano has started spewing lava again. According to a written statement from the Hawaii Volcano Observatory, the volcano spewed lava up to about 100 meters around 10:16 local time and smoke rose to the sky for the 9th time. Kilauea Volcano has been showing activity at intervals since December 23rd.
