Almond Plum Price at 200 Lira per Kilogram: Sales Started 15 Days Early

In the Silifke district of Mersin, the first almond plum harvest of the year is underway, with a fifty percent decrease in yield being exported to Dubai. The collected almond plums are being sold for 200 Lira per kilogram, specifically grown for commercial purposes in coastal areas, entirely organically. Compared to previous years, the sales of almond plum have started 15 days early, bringing smiles to the faces of producers. These almond plums are grown naturally and organically without the use of any chemicals or fertilizers. The headman of the Işıklı Neighborhood, Ramazan Güner, stated that between 50 to 80 tons of yield is expected at the moment, and there is a high demand for almond plums among the public, which is promising for sales. Due to being the first fresh fruit of the season, the prices are slightly higher, causing almond plum enthusiasts to buy in grams rather than kilograms. It is predicted that as the harvest of almond plums increases in the coming days, prices will decrease. Due to agricultural frost, there has been a fifty percent loss in yield, leading to the almond plums being exported to Dubai for 200 Lira per kilogram both domestically and internationally.
