Expressing his close follow-up on advancements related to artificial intelligence, Pichai said that the artificial intelligence model DeepSeek developed by a Chinese-based startup demonstrates that artificial intelligence is a global technology. Pichai stated that excitement and turning points are occurring in this field around the world, remarking that what captured people’s attention with DeepSeek was a productive model with accurate and accessible open source for everyone. Pichai praised the DeepSeek team for doing a great job, mentioning that efficiency is a topic they focus on and that the service provided should be very efficient. He noted that he expects his company to be one of the leading players in the field of artificial intelligence, but added that other companies will also be present in the industry. Pichai mentioned that he has been deeply immersed in artificial intelligence recently, saying, “Sometimes when I go on a travel for a few weeks and return to the company, the first place I visit is the team working on artificial intelligence.
