Ankara achieved 3.5 billion dollars’ worth of exports in the first quarter

In the first quarter of 2025, exports worth 3.5 billion dollars were made from the capital Ankara. The country that received the highest amount of exports from Ankara during this time was China, with 245 million dollars.

According to information compiled from the Ministry of Trade and the Turkish Exporters Assembly, Turkey signed exports of 23.385 billion dollars in March and 65.306 billion dollars in the January-March period.

In the January-March period, exports from Ankara increased by 18.2% compared to the same period last year, reaching 3.491 billion dollars. In the same period last year, exports worth 2.953 billion dollars were made from the capital.

When the distribution of exports from Ankara to countries is examined, China was at the top of the list. During this period, exports worth 245.091 million dollars were made to China.

Germany followed this country with 235.969 million dollars, the USA with 227.542 million dollars, Bulgaria with 194.929 million dollars, and Iraq with 152.545 million dollars.

CHEMICALS AND MANUFACTURED GOODS LEAD IN SALES

When the distribution of exports from Ankara by sectors was examined, it was found that “chemicals and manufactured goods” were the sector with the highest sales. The sector’s exports amounted to 383.608 million dollars in the January-March period. This sector was followed by the “automotive industry” with 363.595 million dollars, and “machinery and components” with 346.186 million dollars.

The sector that experienced the highest percentage increase in exports during this period was “ship, yacht, and services” with 198.4%. This was followed by a 91% increase in “cereals, pulses, oil seeds, and products.”
