Another plane crash in the USA: Small aircraft with open door crashes into parking lot

In Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, a small plane with an open door crashed into a suburban parking lot during takeoff, ending up engulfed in flames.

According to officials, the plane had taken off as planned on Sunday afternoon, but immediately wanted to return due to the open door. Information from air traffic control records revealed that the pilot requested a return for an emergency landing, but communication issues arose due to wind noise caused by the open door. One air traffic controller reported the situation by saying, “Get out of the way… The plane crashed in the wooded area of the parking lot right behind the airport terminal.” Several vehicles in the parking lot caught fire as a result of the crash, leading to a large fire. Health teams, ambulances, and firefighters were quickly dispatched to the scene. Authorities reported multiple injuries in the crash, with some victims undergoing treatment for burns. Footage from the scene showed the aircraft, believed to be a Beechcraft A36TC, catching fire along with the parked vehicles.

Thick black smoke rose after the plane crashed. The parking lot where the incident occurred is only two streets away from the airport and serves a retirement home. Officials stated that the exact number of people on the plane has not been confirmed yet. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
