Approval Granted for $3 Billion Worth of New U.S. Weapons Sales to Israel

The United States has given approval for new weapons sales to Israel. The approval for approximately $3 billion worth of new weapons is recorded as the second sales package provided by the Donald Trump administration this month. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), under the U.S. Department of Defense, announced that the U.S. Department of State has approved new weapons sales to Israel. Official notifications were made to Congress for the approval of three separate weapon sales, with no expectation of any steps to prevent the sales in the Republican-majority Congress. According to the initial DSCA announcement, the U.S. approved the sale of equipment related to a large number of D9 bulldozers to Israel, totaling around $295 million. Another announcement stated that approval was granted for the sale of a variety of bombs and related components to Israel, exceeding a total value of $2 billion. In the most recent statement from the agency, approval was given for the sale of ammunition, guidance kits, ammunition support, and related equipment to Israel, totaling $675 million. The approximately $3 billion worth of new weapons sales approval from the U.S. to Israel is now recorded as the second sales package provided by the Trump administration this month. Just a few weeks ago, the Trump administration had also given approval for weapons sales totaling $7.4 billion to Israel.
