Arab Parliament: Strongly Reject Attempts to Forcefully Displace the Palestinian People

The Arab Parliament has announced its rejection of “any attempt to violate Palestinian sovereignty, seize the Gaza Strip, and forcibly displace the Palestinian people.”

According to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, the Arab Parliament held an extraordinary meeting in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, with the theme “Rebuilding Gaza is a responsibility, while displacing its people is a crime.” In a statement issued after the meeting, it emphasized that any effort aimed at forcibly displacing the Palestinian people to undermine the Palestinian cause is unacceptable. The statement firmly rejected any attempts or efforts to displace the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. It called on the United Nations Security Council and the international community to take a stand against plans to forcibly displace the Palestinian people. The statement also urged the U.S. administration to refrain from making statements contrary to international legitimacy regarding the rights of the Palestinian people, highlighting that President Donald Trump’s remarks about forcibly displacing Palestinians do not contribute to a two-state solution.

The statement called on international and regional parliaments to support the resistance of the Palestinian people against such plans, demanding a full withdrawal of the Israeli army from the Gaza Strip. Moreover, it condemned the attacks by the Israeli army in the occupied West Bank cities of Jenin and Tulkarem, as well as refugee camps, warning that Tel Aviv would be held accountable for the humanitarian and security issues these attacks might cause.

OVER 61,000 PALESTINIANS KILLED IN GAZA Between October 7, 2023, and the declaration of a ceasefire on January 19, more than 61,000 Palestinians died, with 14,000 missing under the rubble, due to Israeli attacks in Gaza. Additionally, 2 million people were displaced. In the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, since October 7, 2023, over 168 children and more than 926 Palestinians have lost their lives in attacks by Israeli soldiers and settlers who have been seizing Palestinian territories, while nearly 7,000 have been injured.

TRUMP’S GAZA PLAN President Trump shared a plan involving the reconstruction of Gaza, which has been severely devastated due to Israeli attacks, and the forced displacement of Palestinians to countries like Egypt and Jordan. He stated that there would be no right of return for forcibly displaced Palestinians in the Gaza takeover plan.
