Armenia and Azerbaijan have reached a consensus on the peace agreement text. Deniz Kilislioğlu from NTV discussed the future process with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan. Mirzoyan stated that they are at an unprecedented point in history regarding peace with Azerbaijan.

Following the consensus on the peace agreement text between Armenia and Azerbaijan, approval from the parliaments is awaited for the agreement to come into effect. The process is lengthy, and mutual demands still exist.

Deniz Kilislioğlu from NTV discussed the future process with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan. Mirzoyan said, “We are at an unprecedented point. Armenia and Azerbaijan have reached an agreement on the draft of a peace agreement. We believe we can start negotiations on the location and date of the agreement. It could be on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border or in another country accepted by Yerevan and Baku.”

WILL THE ZANGEZUR CORRIDOR OPEN?

“First of all, we have no problem with any road being opened. We will be one of the ones benefiting the most from these opened roads. From the Azerbaijani perspective, we see cross-border control, which we cannot accept.”

TURKEY-ARMENIA NORMALIZATION

“We have a very active dialogue on this issue. Talks are being held between the two ministers or two special envoys. Our approach is that if we can open the borders between Armenia and Turkey, it will also have a very positive impact on our relations with Azerbaijan. Our stance and positions in the Middle East are very appropriate in many respects. We have never been closer to each other before. We have never been closer to peace like this.”
