Tencent’s application has surpassed DeepSeek and become the most downloaded app. The competition among Chinese artificial intelligence applications has intensified. The rapid success of DeepSeek has spurred Chinese technology companies into action. Tencent Holdings’ Yuanbao artificial intelligence chatbot, became the most downloaded iPhone app in China this week, leaving DeepSeek behind. Three out of the five most downloaded free apps in the country have artificial intelligence bots. ByteDance’s Doubao app, on the other hand, lagged behind Tencent and DeepSeek. Alibaba had announced a $53 billion investment in artificial intelligence. Experts believe that this reveals the point where domestic competition in the country has arrived. Tencent, the world’s largest game distributor, has over 1.4 billion users on its WeChat platform. With support from its other applications, the company is considered to have positioned itself at the top of the artificial intelligence race.
