American technology company Meta has announced updates regarding “Teen Accounts” on the Instagram platform. According to the announcement, users under 16 will not be able to use the “live streaming” feature without parental permission and will not be able to disable the “automatic blurring” feature in private messages. It was also noted that the “Teen Accounts” feature will be expanded to Facebook and Messenger. Information was shared that the updates will be first tested in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia in a few months. The social media platform Instagram under the umbrella of Meta introduced the “Teen Accounts” application in September 2024, which restricts the use of the platform for children and young people and includes security measures.
