A decision made by the Ankara Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) prohibits vehicles other than those being charged from parking at electric vehicle charging stations in Ankara. A company that won the tender to install charging stations for electric vehicles at certain points complained to UKOME that they were unable to serve electric vehicle users and were suffering commercial losses due to fossil fuel vehicles parking in those spaces. After assessing the complaint, UKOME decided to designate 6 parking lots with a total of 36 spaces in Çankaya and Altındağ for charging electric vehicles only, and imposed a ban on parking in these areas. Traffic signs with the warning “Parking outside of charging vehicles is prohibited” were added under the decision.
