Banks’ net profit reaches 118 billion lira

As of the end of February, the period net profit of the banking sector amounted to 118 billion 214 million lira. According to the “Turkish Banking Sector Non-Consolidated Key Indicators” report from the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) for February 2025 period, the sector’s total assets increased by 1 trillion 704 billion 319 million lira compared to the end of 2024, reaching 34 trillion 361 billion 553 million lira. Loans, as the largest asset item in the sector, totaled 16 trillion 864 billion 990 million lira by the end of February, while securities reached a total of 5 trillion 454 billion 971 million lira. The non-performing loan ratio for this period stood at 1.93%. Deposits, being the largest source of funds for banks, increased by 4.7% from the end of 2024 to reach 19 trillion 800 billion 101 million lira. During the same period, the total equity increased by 5.4% to 3 trillion 55 billion 454 million lira. As of the end of February, the sector’s period net profit was 118 billion 214 million lira, with a capital adequacy ratio of 17.72%.
