Bayraktar KIZILELMA Full Throttle! Successful Continuation of Flights

The flight tests of Turkey’s first indigenous combat UAV, Bayraktar KIZILELMA, developed entirely with domestic resources by Baykar, are continuing successfully.
The development process of Bayraktar KIZILELMA, which is designed to serve as Turkey’s first indigenous combat UAV and developed entirely by Baykar, is progressing according to the planned test schedule. AERODYNAMIC SYSTEM IDENTIFICATION TEST
Baykar’s fully domestically developed Bayraktar KIZILELMA successfully passed the Aerodynamic System Identification Test. The production prototype of Bayraktar KIZILELMA, named PT3, took off from the AKINCI Flight Training and Test Center in Tekirdağ’s Çorlu district, performing a mid-altitude flight for 53 minutes. During this flight, it successfully completed the necessary aerodynamic system identification tests.
STRONGER, MORE AGILE Development activities for Bayraktar KIZILELMA are progressing according to the planned schedule. Whith the experiences obtained from the initial prototypes, significant changes were made to the production prototype. Along with structural improvements, enhancements were made to the avionics architecture.
A flight was carried out successfully with the integrated afterburning engine alternative. The Bayraktar KIZILELMA, closer to the speed of sound with its powerful new engine, will be able to maneuver much better at high speeds thanks to aerodynamic improvements.
With its AESA radar, it will be able to execute the most challenging missions due to its high situational awareness. FLEW IN RECORD TIME Baykar’s Bayraktar KIZILELMA project started in 2021 with 100% domestic capital. The Bayraktar KIZILELMA, with the tail number TC-ÖZB, which came out of the production line on November 14, 2022, was transferred to the AKINCI Flight Training and Test Center in Çorlu.
After successfully completing ground tests here rapidly, it made its first flight on December 14, 2022. The Bayraktar KIZILELMA met the sky in a record time of about one year. ACHIEVING FIRSTS IN AVIATION HISTORY Bayraktar KIZILELMA made flight formations that were firsts in world aviation history during TEKNOFEST 2023. Conducting formation flights with Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA, Bayraktar KIZILELMA performed a fleet flight with the Turkish Stars consisting of F-16 fighter jet SOLOTÜRK and F-5 jet aircraft on May 1, 2023, in the Istanbul skies. These flight concepts, which are a milestone in the history of aviation, will also shape the future of air combat.
EXPORT CHAMPION Baykar has carried out all its projects with domestic resources from the beginning, obtaining 83% of its revenue from exports since the start of the UAV R&D process in 2003. Making $1.8 billion in exports in 2023, Baykar ranked among the top 10 companies that generated the most exports in all sectors in our country. Being the largest company in the global unmanned aerial vehicle export market, Baykar continued its global success in 2024, achieving 90% of its revenue from exports and making $1.8 billion in exports. BAYKAR, THE WORLD’S LARGEST UAV COMPANY
Baykar, which received the Export Champions Award, became the export leader in the defense and aviation sector according to the data of the Defense Industry Presidency and the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) in 2021, 2022, and 2023. Having performed one-third of the sector’s exports the previous year, Baykar carried out one-fourth of the total exports of the defense and aviation sector alone in 2024, positioning Turkey as a leader in the global UAV export market. Baykar, the world’s largest unmanned aerial vehicle company, signed export agreements with 34 countries for the Bayraktar TB2 UAV and with 11 countries for the Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA, totaling 36 countries.
