BP to Sell Its Share in TANAP

Energy company BP announced that it will sell its 25% stake in the TANAP pipeline to Apollo for 1 billion dollars. The partnership with Apollo Funds on the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP), a part of the Southern Gas Corridor, was declared by BP. Apollo will acquire the non-controlling 25% stake in BP Pipelines (TANAP) Limited, which holds a 12% interest in TANAP, for approximately 1 billion dollars. The agreement, expected to be completed in the second quarter of the year, follows the partnership established by BP and Apollo last year for the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), the final section of the Southern Gas Corridor. BP will retain the majority stake in BP Pipelines (TANAP) Limited and safeguard its long-term commercial and strategic interests, including management rights in the pipeline. TANAP ownership is divided among Southern Gas Corridor Company (SGC) with 51%, Botas with 30%, BP Pipelines (TANAP) Limited with 12%, and SOCAR Turkey Energy with 7%.
