Breaking Ground Mission from NASA: Unveiling the Sun’s Secrets

NASA is preparing for a groundbreaking mission to investigate the mysteries of the Sun.
The US space agency announced that within the PUNCH mission, it will observe the Sun’s activity in three dimensions with 4 satellites.
Scientists are seeking answers to fundamental questions about the functioning of the Sun.
It is not yet fully understood why the outer atmosphere of this giant star, known as the corona, is much hotter than its surface, and how solar winds are formed.
NASA aims to create an artificial total solar eclipse with this mission.
As a result, the Sun’s corona will be visualized in more detail than ever before.
A statement from NASA regarding the matter reads as follows:
“Thanks to PUNCH’s measurements, scientists will be able to see more clearly how events detached from the Sun and reaching Earth unfold. This will allow us to more accurately predict the effects of space weather events on robotic exploration vehicles and humanity.”
The launch will take place on February 27 from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket will carry the four PUNCH satellites into low Earth orbit.
