Budget Starts the Year with a Deficit

The central government budget recorded a deficit of 139 billion 259 million Turkish Liras in January. The Ministry of Treasury and Finance has unveiled the budget implementation results for January. Accordingly, budget revenues in January increased by 48.6% compared to the same month last year, reaching 917 billion 83 million lira, while budget expenditures recorded a 37.6% increase, reaching 1 trillion 56 billion 342 million lira. The budget ended January with a deficit of 139 billion 259 million lira.
