The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change has imposed a fine of 2,006,031 liras on Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Water and Sewerage Administration (BUSKİ) due to violations in wastewater facilities. According to a statement from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, an inspection was conducted at BUSKİ’s Mudanya Wastewater Treatment Plant. The analysis of wastewater samples during the inspection revealed that they exceeded the limit values specified in environmental legislation. As the same violation occurred in 2022, a penalty of double the amount was imposed on BUSKİ General Directorate, totaling 1,337,354 liras in administrative fines. In the inspection of BUSKİ’s Orhangazi Wastewater Treatment Plant, it was found that the wastewater exceeded the limit values. Accordingly, BUSKİ was given an additional administrative fine of 668,677 liras under the Environmental Law.
