Call for Ceasefire in Gaza from Jordan, Egypt, and France

Leaders of Jordan, Egypt, and France have called for a ceasefire in Gaza and an end to attacks on civilians. King Abdullah II of Jordan, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt, and President Emmanuel Macron of France met in the Egyptian capital of Cairo for a trilateral summit on Gaza. During the meeting of Jordan, Egypt, and France leaders, it was emphasized that the international community must pressure Israel to stop its attacks on Gaza, immediately return to the ceasefire agreement, and take steps to implement this agreement. The deepening crisis faced by Palestinians in the Gaza Strip due to Israel’s closure of all supply routes and obstruction of humanitarian aid entry was highlighted in the meeting, stressing the urgent need to deliver sufficient humanitarian aid to the region. Jordanian and Egyptian leaders, particularly pointing out the importance of the European Union (EU) countries, including France, joining international efforts, stated that there should be a joint effort for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. President Macron of France, recalling the significance of Jordan and Egypt’s supportive stance towards the rights of the Palestinian people, stated that “France is ready to do everything necessary to find a political solution to the Palestinian issue and ensure calm.”
