Amidst the ongoing trade war between the USA and China, Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang met with Republican Senator Steve Daines, a Trump supporter, and American businessmen in Beijing during the “China Development Forum.”

During the meeting with Senator Daines, Prime Minister Li called for dialogue with Washington, stating that “both sides should choose dialogue over conflict and win-win cooperation over zero-sum competition.”

Li expressed hope that Washington would work with China to promote stable, healthy, and sustainable development of relations. CEOs of major companies such as FedEx, Pfizer, and Qualcomm also attended the meeting.
