Call for Special Electricity Tariff for Tradesmen

President of TESK, Palandöken, stated that a special tariff should be applied for tradesmen on electricity bills. The President of the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), Bendevi Palandöken, said that a special tariff should be applied on electricity bills for tradesmen and craftsmen. Emphasizing that energy efficiency and saving are crucial issues for our country, Palandöken stated, “Therefore, saving the meat in the refrigerator, the cold beverages in the fridge, or the electricity used in industry does not seem very possible. It is difficult to reduce the lighting of the streets or the electricity used in shop windows.” Palandöken pointed out that even if efficient devices are used, high costs are inevitable, stating, “In this regard, a new regulation should be made to reduce electricity prices for tradesmen, craftsmen, and households. This step is also important in preventing inflation from being exacerbated.” Palandöken called for the application of the old tariffs for a certain period.
