The Central Bank has redefined the discount interest rate to be applied in rediscount transactions for promissory notes. The Central Bank announced that the discount interest rate to be applied in rediscount transactions for notes with a maturity of at least 3 months has been set at an annual rate of 43,25%, while the interest rate to be applied in advance transactions is determined to be an annual rate of 44,25%. Previously, the discount interest rate in rediscount transactions was applied at an annual rate of 48,25% and the advance transaction interest rate was at an annual rate of 49,25%. The new rates have come into effect upon publication in the Official Gazette.
