Central Bank Reserves Decline from Peak

The reserves of the Central Bank decreased by 3 billion 157 million dollars last week, falling to 169 billion 995 million dollars.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) announced its weekly money and banking statistics. As of February 21st, the Central Bank’s gross foreign exchange reserves decreased by 2 billion 979 million dollars to 97 billion 698 million dollars.

Gross foreign exchange reserves were at 100 billion 677 million dollars on February 14th.

During this period, gold reserves also declined by 178 million dollars from 72 billion 475 million dollars to 72 billion 297 million dollars. Thus, the total reserves of the Central Bank decreased from 173 billion 152 million dollars to 169 billion 995 million dollars in the week of February 21st, marking a decrease of 3 billion 157 million dollars compared to the previous week.
