Changes in VAT: Increased to 10,000 Turkish Liras

The minimum amount applied in VAT refund requests has been increased to 10,000 Turkish Liras from 2,000 Turkish Liras. This regulation will be implemented starting from April. The Presidential Decree regarding the minimum amount for taxpayers to request VAT refunds related to transactions that give rise to refund rights has been raised to 10,000 Turkish Liras. The Presidential Decree has been published in the Official Gazette and has become effective. According to the Decree, the minimum amount for taxpayers to request VAT refunds related to transactions that give rise to refund rights has been increased from 2,000 Turkish Liras to 10,000 Turkish Liras. This regulation will apply to transactions made from April onwards. WHAT IS VAT REFUND? Value Added Tax, VAT, is a type of tax that businesses in Turkey pay for the goods and services they purchase.
