Clothing in Germany Banned from Nude Beaches

In the famous resort town of Rostock in Germany, stricter rules will be enforced on nude beaches starting next season. These rules will make nudity mandatory in certain beach sections, with clothing prohibited in these areas.
Beach guards in Rostock, Germany now have the authority to ban people from wearing clothes on nude beaches. Officials speaking to the American broadcasting company CNN cited debates between participants in nude camps and users of clothed beaches as the main reason for tightening the rules.
The guidelines state, “It is prohibited to enter the sea or sunbathe dressed on nude camp beaches.” Rostock’s 15-kilometer beach is divided exclusively for nudists, mixed use, and only for clothed beachgoers, ensuring all guests’ needs are accommodated. Naturism is traditionally popular in Germany, but it is declining among younger generations. City officials reduced the number of nude beaches from 37 to 27, noting a decrease in the number of people practicing this culture today.
