In a statement, it was mentioned that “lifeboats from Skegness, Bridlington, Maplethorpe, and Cleethorpes, an HM Coastguard fixed-wing aircraft, nearby vessels with firefighting capabilities, and a Coastguard Rescue Helicopter from Humberside were called to the scene. The incident is still ongoing.” The alarm regarding the incident was raised at 09:48 in the morning. The BBC reported that the oil tanker involved in the collision caught fire.
The UK national rescue service announced receiving reports that several individuals had abandoned their ships. The British media reported that 32 injured individuals had been brought ashore.
The Coastguard stated that they were assessing the potential pollution response needed following the collision.
