Conference on Palestine in Switzerland: Invitation to 196 Countries who Signed the Geneva Conventions

The Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that 196 countries that signed the Geneva Conventions would be invited to a conference aimed at protecting Palestinian civilians exposed to Israeli attacks.
An international conference will take place in Switzerland on Friday to discuss the protection of Palestinian civilians affected by Israeli attacks. A spokesperson for the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that 196 countries that signed the Geneva Conventions would be invited to the meeting. On September 18, the UN General Assembly tasked Switzerland with organizing the conference due to its role as the repository of international agreements defining the rules of war and humanitarian law. Today marks the last day of the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire, which led to the release of detainees and Palestinian prisoners in Gaza.
The second phase has not yet been negotiated. Meanwhile, Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank have increased attacks on Palestinian civilians, while the Israeli army has launched a major attack displacing at least 40,000 Palestinians.
