Confession Preparation of the Chessboard Killer

The serial killer known as the “Chessboard Killer” was sentenced to life in prison in Russia for killing 48 people. The serial killer stated that he is ready to confess to 11 more murders.

The serial killer, now 50 years old, who was convicted of killing 48 people in Russia, targeting victims around Bitsevski Park in Moscow, is reportedly willing to confess to 11 more murders, according to a statement from the country’s prison administration.

The majority of the victims were noted to be homeless, alcoholics, or elderly.

After a series of murders from 1992 to 2006, he was tried and imprisoned in 2007.

He was dubbed the “Chessboard Killer” by the Russian media because he told detectives that he planned to place a coin on each square of a 64-square chessboard for each of his victims.

According to Skynews, the serial killer is currently being held in the Polar Owl Prison, a remote prison in Russia’s Arctic region, following his sentence.

The Russian Prison System today stated in a message on the Telegram messaging app that the defendant had expressed readiness to confess to investigators about the killings of 11 more men and women.

In his previous trial, he claimed to have killed 63 people but was only charged with 48 murders and three attempted murders.

If found guilty of the additional 11 murders, he will become the second most prolific recorded serial killer in Russia.

Former police officer Mikhail Popkov was convicted of 78 murders.
