THE LARGEST DEPORTATION OPERATION
During his election campaign, President-elect Donald Trump promised to carry out the largest deportation operation in US history. After taking office, Trump announced the removal of the CBP One application, which allowed legal migration, and ordered the preparation of a facility in Guantanamo Bay for the supervision of “criminal immigrants” who enter the country irregularly.
Trump aimed to end the flow of irregular immigrants at the border with strict measures, signing a new executive order to enhance security measures on the US-Mexico border and deciding to send an additional 1,500 troops to the border.
