Cost of Iftar Table Rises by 46%!

In Istanbul, the cost of an iftar table has increased by 46% compared to last year. According to IPA data, the cost of essential products will exceed 10,000 liras. Istanbul Planning Agency (IPA) published the results of the Ramadan basic kitchen spending research. In Istanbul, while kitchen expenses in 2024 Ramadan totaled 7,249 liras for essential product groups, this cost rose to 10,565 liras in the preparations for the 2025 Ramadan month. The annual increase reached 45.75%. Lentils saw a 51.61% increase, red meat a 55.10% increase. The increase in sunflower oil was measured at 62.28%. The highest cost difference was 121.79% in coffee, while the lowest difference was 9.75% in tomato paste.
