Declaration and payments starting in corporate tax

Corporate tax payers can submit their tax returns for the 2024 accounting period between April 1-30. The declaration period for capital companies, cooperatives, public economic institutions, economic enterprises belonging to associations or foundations, and partnerships subject to corporate tax starts tomorrow. Taxpayers will be able to declare their corporate tax for the 2024 accounting period until the end of April. Corporate tax will also be paid between April 1-30. Entities with special accounting periods are required to pay their taxes by the end of the relevant month when submitting their returns. Taxpayers can make their payments to the Revenue Administration (“GIB”) through the “gib.gov.tr” website, Digital Tax Office, and GIB mobile application, as well as through affiliated bank accounts or credit cards, and with cards of banks operating in foreign countries. In addition, payments can be made through affiliated banks’ branches, internet, phone, and mobile banking, as well as through PTT branches. COMPATIBLE TAXPAYERS RECEIVE A 5% DISCOUNT Additional documents such as balance sheets, income statements, operating account summaries, taxes paid through withholding, profits obtained in free zones, technology venture and technopark capital supports, taxes paid in foreign countries, basic financial statements, notifications to corporate partners and board members need to be attached to the tax returns. Providing information and documents related to deductions and exemptions such as R&D, design, cash capital increase, industrial property rights exemption is crucial. Corporate taxpayers (excluding those in the finance and banking sectors, insurance and reinsurance companies, pension companies, and pension investment funds) meeting the specified criteria are eligible for a 5% discount on the tax calculated on their tax returns. Conditions include timely payment of taxes for the tax years of the return and the two previous years, as well as no outstanding debts.
