Decline in Automotive Production

Automotive primary industry production decreased by 3% to 105,397 in the first month of the year compared to January of last year.

The Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD) has released the production data for the automotive industry in January.

According to the data, automotive primary industry production in the first month of the year decreased by 3% to 105,397 compared to January of last year.

Car production, which saw a 1% increase from the previous year, rose to 67,795 units.

In the commercial vehicle group, there was a 9% decrease in production in January, a 51% decrease in the heavy commercial vehicle group, and a 3% decrease in the light commercial vehicle group.

Compared to January of the previous year, the commercial vehicle market shrank by 22%, the heavy commercial vehicle market by 38%, and the light commercial vehicle market by 19%. In the first month of the year, total automotive exports increased by 4% in terms of units compared to the same period of the previous year, while car exports increased by 7%, totaling 78,191 units for total exports and 47,316 units for car exports. In January, the total market decreased by 15% to 70,412 units compared to the same period of the previous year, with the car market also experiencing a 13% decline to 55,944 units.
