Decrease in Central Bank reserves

The total reserves of the Central Bank decreased by 2.25 billion dollars in the week of April 4th. The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) released its weekly currency and banking statistics. As of April 4th, the gross foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank decreased by 2.771 billion dollars to 77.838 billion dollars. Gross foreign exchange reserves were at the level of 80.609 billion dollars on March 28th. During this period, gold reserves increased by 520 million dollars, rising from 75.902 billion dollars to 76.422 billion dollars. Thus, the total reserves of the Central Bank decreased from 156.511 billion dollars to 154.261 billion dollars in the week of April 4th, a decrease of 2.25 billion dollars compared to the previous week.
