Researchers have discovered 128 new satellites orbiting Saturn. This discovery, officially recognized by the International Astronomical Union, has increased the total number of known satellites orbiting Saturn to 274, surpassing Jupiter with its 95 satellites. Edward Ashton, an astronomer at Academia Sinica in Taiwan, stated, “We knew these objects were likely satellites and believed that more could be discovered. Therefore, we observed the same sky regions again for three months in 2023.”
