Discovery of a New Galaxy One Billion Light-Years Away from Earth

Astronomers have discovered a spiral galaxy located approximately one billion light-years away from Earth. It has been reported that a supermassive black hole is situated at the center of this galaxy.
According to a report on the Space.com website, the spiral galaxy discovered at a distance of about one billion light-years from Earth has been named “2MASX J23453268−0449256.” Astronomers have reported the presence of a supermassive black hole at the center of this galaxy, billions of times larger than the mass of the Sun.
POTENTIAL TO COMPLETELY ERADICATE LIFE IN THE GALAXY
Astronomers have emphasized that this black hole emits radio jets that span six million light-years, indicating that these radio jets are powerful enough to completely eradicate life in the galaxy. They noted that such powerful radio jets are usually observed in elliptical galaxies, making their detection in a spiral galaxy an “unusual occurrence.”
COULD LEAD TO MASSIVE DESTRUCTION
Astronomers expressed their expectation that radio jets of this magnitude could potentially disrupt or destroy a spiral galaxy, but they found it remarkable that this galaxy continues to exist. They pointed out that if these radio jets were to be aimed toward our solar system, they could obliterate planetary atmospheres and lead to massive destruction. Astronomers reported that in this newly discovered galaxy, there is ten times more dark matter compared to the Milky Way galaxy.
