Do you always feel tired? An expert explained 2 serious signs

Fatigue, often considered a part of daily life, can actually be a sign of underlying serious health issues if there is a constant feeling of exhaustion. Experts warn those who frequently experience fatigue about two important signs. These signs could be indicative of a more significant health problem.
Dr. Milli Raizada emphasizes that while long-term fatigue may not always be cause for concern, seeking medical help is necessary if this condition lasts for more than a few weeks. If fatigue is felt even after mild physical activities, this can be a reason to see a doctor. This condition, known as post-exercise fatigue, could be a sign of a serious problem.
Dr. Raizada mentions that such symptoms could be signs of myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), known as chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). This disease, affecting around 250,000 people in the UK, manifests with problems such as excessive sleepiness and cognitive difficulties, including issues with thinking, concentration, and memory.
Living with this condition makes it extremely difficult for many patients to lead a normal life, be productive at work, and engage in other activities. However, only 10% of those living with this disease receive a diagnosis. Dr. Raizada suggests that this could be due to some symptoms being overlooked.
Experts state that experiencing fatigue for a few weeks and excessive tiredness after exercise are red flags. Dr. Raizada highlights the importance of early assessment and blood tests, stating in an interview with Huff Post UK, “Unrelenting fatigue lasting more than six months meets the diagnostic criteria for chronic fatigue syndrome. However, fatigue lasting for a few weeks should not be ignored.”
Although there is no definite cure for chronic fatigue syndrome, treatment methods such as antidepressants, physiotherapy, and counseling can be tried to alleviate symptoms. The NHS suggests that energy management could be one of the most effective treatment methods and provides guidance on how to make the most of available energy without worsening symptoms.
