A tunnel, 12 meters deep, used for drug trafficking has been uncovered between Ceuta, a territory of Spain in North Africa, and Morocco.
According to a statement by the Spanish police, the tunnel was found extending from Moroccan territory to Ceuta, as part of an operation against drug trafficking.
Discovered during a search in an industrial area warehouse, the tunnel was equipped with a basic lighting system and noted to be 12 meters deep, with its length yet to be determined. The operation, named “Hades”, led to the arrest of 14 individuals, including 2 police officers in the last 3 weeks, and the seizure of 6 tons of drugs. Ceuta, a transit point for drug trafficking between North Africa and Europe, has long been at the center of smuggling operations.
