An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9 struck in Papua New Guinea. Following the earthquake, a tsunami warning was issued.
The earthquake occurred in the New Britain island, which is part of Papua New Guinea.
The earthquake, which occurred at a depth of 49 kilometers, was followed by a tsunami warning. The US Pacific Tsunami center announced that waves measuring between one to three meters have been recorded after the earthquake. It is still unknown whether there have been any casualties or damages as a result of the earthquake.
