During Ramadan, millions of retirees focus on the holiday bonuses they will receive. The bonuses, paid twice a year to retirees, were recently increased to 3,000 Turkish liras with a 50% raise. Minister of Labor and Social Security, Işıkhan, had mentioned that work would be done regarding holiday bonuses. In the new year, various payments such as the minimum wage, retirement pensions, civil servant salaries, widow and orphan allowances, and elder care pensions have changed. Retirees are now focused on the bonuses they will receive during Ramadan and Eid al-Adha. Calculations have been made based on the expected percentage increase for holiday bonuses. So, how much will Retirement Holiday Bonuses be in 2025, and what percentage will they increase? Here are the latest developments on Retirement Holiday Bonuses…SSK, Bağ-Kur, and Retirement Fund retirees, along with many eligible individuals, benefit from holiday bonuses, one of the additional income sources for retirees. The holiday bonus payment is distributed to recipients of widows’ and orphans’ allowances based on the proportional share. The bonuses paid twice a year are also transferred to accounts where retirement pensions are deposited without the need for an application. With Ramadan approaching, the focus of millions of retirees has turned to the increase in holiday bonus. While the rate of increase in the twice-raised retirement pensions is 15.75%, expectations for holiday bonuses have escalated. So, by how much will Retirement Holiday Bonuses increase? Here are the calculations made…A new study will be carried out by the economic management for Retirement Holiday Bonuses. Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, previously stated that they would work on holiday bonuses. Expectations regarding the upcoming increase in retirement holiday bonuses have been steadily rising between 20% and 40%. Retirement bonuses were previously increased by 50% to 3,000 Turkish liras. Retirees’ SSK, Bağ-Kur, and Retirement Fund pensions received a 15.75% increase at the beginning of 2025. It is not expected that the bonus increase will be below this percentage. If there is a 20% increase in holiday bonuses, it will rise to 3,600 liras, and if there is a 25% increase, it will reach 3,750 liras. In case of a 30% increase, the bonuses will rise by 900 liras to 3,900 liras. Especially at the 35% increase expectation, the holiday bonus will exceed the 4,000 lira mark and reach 4,050 liras. If there is a 40% increase, retirees’ bonuses will increase to 4,200 liras. Not only SSK, Bağ-Kur, and Retirement Fund retirees will benefit from Retirement Holiday Bonus payments. Elder care pensions (age 65), disability retirement pensions, disability pensions, death pensions, continuous disability income, and death benefits receivers can also benefit. Additionally, the families of martyrs, veterans, combat veterans, security guards, champion athletes, civilians affected by terrorism will be able to benefit from bonuses on both Ramadan and Eid al-Adha.Ramadan holiday dates are calculated according to the lunar calendar and therefore fall on different days in the Gregorian calendar each year. This year, Ramadan will be celebrated 10 days earlier compared to the previous year. According to the calendar announced by the Directorate of Religious Affairs, Ramadan will be observed on March 30 – April 1, 2025. The retirement bonus for Ramadan is expected to be processed in accounts one week before the holiday. Retirees or other eligible recipients do not need to apply separately for Retirement Holiday Bonuses. The bonuses will be deposited into accounts through the banks where the pensions are received. SSK, Bağ-Kur, and Retirement Fund retirees can check and control their payments along with the bonus inquiry process. Bonus payments can be monitored through internet banking, mobile banking, and communication numbers provided by the banks.
