Expansion of Artificial Intelligence Partnership: Elon Musk’s Company Joining Too

Chip manufacturer Nvidia and Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company xAI will be joining a global artificial intelligence partnership. The group also includes Microsoft and BlackRock. Elon Musk’s xAI artificial intelligence company and Nvidia, which produces artificial intelligence chips, will be part of a group formed with support from the investment firm MGX, backed by BlackRock, Microsoft, and the United Arab Emirates, for artificial intelligence infrastructure investments. Deep learning and large-scale data processing require significant processing power and energy. Technology companies meeting this demand by using thousands of chips in clusters leads to the need for data centers customized for such operations. The group, originally named the Global Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure Investment Partnership in September of last year, will be renamed the Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure Partnership. Investors, asset owners, and companies will initially provide $30 billion in capital. The group stated that, with debt financing and total investments, they could reach $100 billion in capital.
