The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) is continuing its preparations to announce the new interest rate decision. While the markets and investors closely monitor the policy interest rate decision to be announced by the Central Bank, the effects of the decision on inflation, exchange rates, and financial markets are a subject of interest. The date of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting of the CBRT and the steps to be taken regarding interest rates are eagerly awaited. According to the CBRT calendar, this year there will be 8 MPC meetings instead of 12. Additionally, the Bank will release 8 MPC meeting summaries, 4 inflation reports, and 2 financial stability reports. The Central Bank will announce the second interest rate of the year on March 6, 2025, at 14.00. The Central Bank Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) announced the first interest rate decision of the year on January 23, 2025. As a result, the MPC reduced the policy rate, the one-week repo auction interest rate, by 250 basis points to 45%. The third meeting of the year will be held on April 17, and there will be no meeting in May. MPC will convene on June 19 and July 24. There will be no meeting in August. After the meetings on September 11 and October 23, there will be no meeting in November. The last meeting of the year will also be held on December 11, 2025.
