First H5N1-related death in Mexico

Mexico announced the occurrence of the first death related to H5N1 avian influenza in the country.
Eliud Aguirre, the health secretary of Coahuila state, revealed that a three-year-old girl in the northern Coahuila state passed away from multiple organ failure due to high pathogenic avian influenza (H5N1).
Aguirre mentioned that no other suspected cases have been identified. WHAT IS INFLUENZA (H5N1)?
Influenza is a contagious viral disease that primarily affects the nose, throat, bronchi, and sometimes the lungs, with 3 types of variations: A, B, C, showing mild to severe symptoms.
HOW IS INFLUENZA TRANSMITTED?
Influenza spreads through the inhalation of infected particles released into the air by a sick person through coughing and sneezing, as well as through contact with contaminated hands. It easily passes from person to person in crowded environments, causing annual outbreaks in temperate regions during winter.
