The Foreign Ministry condemned the raid carried out by Israeli government’s far-right National Security Minister Ben-Gvir and his companions on the Al-Aqsa Mosque. In a written statement from the ministry, the incursion by a member of the Israeli government into the Al-Aqsa Mosque was denounced as a “dangerous step aimed at further escalating tensions in the region.” The statement also highlighted that the announcement of an expansion of military operations in Gaza and the continuation of illegal settlement activities in the West Bank today further demonstrated Israel’s disregard for international law and its complete lack of a peace-oriented approach. The international community was urged to guarantee the inviolability of holy sites, prevent similar provocations from recurring, and demonstrate a determined stance to prevent Israel from expanding its territories through occupation. Earlier this morning, the far-right National Security Minister Ben-Gvir and the accompanying Israelis had raided the Al-Aqsa Mosque under tight security measures.
