Fragile Ceasefire in Gaza: Trump’s Threat Prompted Response from Hamas

The ceasefire agreement in Gaza remains in effect, with all its fragility.

Recently, the military wing of Hamas, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades spokesman, Abu Ubeyde, announced the postponement of the expected prisoner exchange over the weekend due to Israel’s failure to fulfill its commitments in the ceasefire agreement.

Following this announcement, Israel considered this decision a violation and issued a high alert order to the army. President Donald Trump also stated that if all hostages in Gaza were not released by Saturday noon, the ceasefire should be canceled.

Trump commented, “Then all hell will break loose” and emphasized that the decision belongs to Israel.

Hamas did not delay in responding to Trump’s provocative remarks.

In a statement by Hamas, it was emphasized that Trump should remember that both sides must abide by the agreement and the only way to get the hostages back is through this. The statement also noted that threats hold no value and only complicate matters.
