Good news for astronauts stranded in space from Musk: “We will bring them back in a few weeks”

The owner of SpaceX, Elon Musk, announced that two NASA astronauts stranded in space due to a Boeing Starliner malfunction will return to Earth with the Dragon spacecraft in a few weeks.

Elon Musk, the owner of the space transportation company SpaceX, stated that they will rescue the two NASA astronauts who have been stranded at the International Space Station (ISS) since June, saying, “We will bring them back in a few weeks.” The good news comes after approximately 9 months of the NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore unable to return to Earth from the International Space Station (ISS) due to a malfunction in the Boeing Starliner spacecraft.

Musk, in an interview with the American media, expressed that the two astronauts who have been unable to return to Earth will be rescued by SpaceX. Musk said, “Yes, we will bring them back in a few weeks.” NASA also announced that if everything goes according to plan, the stranded astronauts will depart from the ISS with the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft on March 16. It is noteworthy that Musk’s recent statement came just before the launch of the Dragon spacecraft carrying the astronauts who will replace Williams and Wilmore. Last June, the NASA astronauts sent to the ISS with the Boeing Starliner spacecraft were stranded at the space station due to a malfunction in the spacecraft. President Donald Trump had blamed the Biden administration for the failure to bring the astronauts back to Earth and asked for Elon Musk’s help in the rescue mission. Musk had previously claimed that efforts to bring back the astronauts sooner were obstructed by the Biden administration for “political reasons.”
